Dunamu, the operator of virtual asset exchange Upbit, will be responsible for the storage and management of virtual assets confiscated by the police during criminal investigations.
Dunamu announced on the 7th that it has been selected as the final successful bidder for the 'Confiscated Virtual Asset Storage and Management Project' commissioned by the National Police Agency. This project was conducted through a general competitive bidding process by the Public Procurement Service to establish a secure storage and management system for confiscated virtual assets.
Dunamu received 94.14 points in the technical evaluation and was designated as the preferred bidder on July 8th. After technical negotiations with the National Police Agency, it was finally selected as the project operator. The contract period is one year.
The confiscated virtual assets will be managed through Dunamu's custody service, Upbit Custody. Dunamu plans to operate a real-time monitoring system capable of 24/7 response, including nights and holidays.
Upbit Custody applies a 100% cold wallet environment, isolated from external internet networks. Furthermore, it utilizes Multi-Party Computation (MPC), Distributed Key Generation (DKG), and Multi-Signature technologies to reduce the risk of single key leakage, and separates storage wallets according to asset type and purpose of use.
A Dunamu official stated, "Based on our security technology and control capabilities, we will strive to safely manage national confiscated assets and enhance the stability of digital public security infrastructure."
