While overall DeFi deposits decreased by 15%, real-world asset (RWA) token deposits reportedly surged by more than three times. According to a report by CoinShares and Token Terminal, RWA token deposits skyrocketed from $2.3 billion in Q2 last year to $7.4 billion in Q2 this year. However, it was found that these deposits were concentrated in traditional financial asset tokens such as government bonds, commodities, and stocks, rather than cryptocurrencies. CoinShares explained, "Investors are not leaving traditional finance; instead, they are bringing existing assets on-chain, thanks to the strength of an infrastructure that offers 24/7 instant settlement."
