Network activity surged as users moved their holdings to exchanges or other wallets following the hacking of the Bitcoin hardware wallet, Coldcard. Citing data from Blockchain.com, CoinDesk reported that the number of pending transactions in the BTC Mempool reached 89,031, the highest since February 2025. The number of active addresses also hit a three-month high of 712,000, and the number of whale movements reached a five-month high of 61,800. It is known that over $100 million worth of BTC was stolen in this Coldcard hack, and Galaxy Research estimates that the damage could increase to a maximum of 2,055 BTC.
