Seoul Economic Daily exclusively reported that cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb has not accepted the consumer dispute resolution body's proposal to compensate victims of its automated trading (API) event with a total of 3 billion won. Previously, in June, the Korea Consumer Agency's Consumer Dispute Resolution Committee decided that Bithumb should exempt transaction fees equivalent to 100,000 won per applicant. In this regard, the Seoul Economic Daily stated, "With various regulatory risks such as sanctions from financial authorities and delays in the virtual asset service provider (VASP) renewal review, coupled with the increasing possibility of consumer disputes escalating into civil lawsuits, the burden on Bithumb's push for an initial public offering (IPO) in 2028 is expected to grow."
