The number of millionaires with assets of $1 million or more in the United States has exceeded 23.83 million, making it the largest in the world. However, the symbolism of wealth associated with $1 million is rapidly weakening due to inflation.
According to cryptocurrency media Watcher.Guru on August 3 (local time), the 'Global Wealth Report 2025' published by Swiss investment bank UBS reported 23,831,000 millionaires in the United States. This is the largest number for a single country globally, showing a faster growth rate than other nations.
It was found that over 1,000 people in the U.S. newly surpass $1 million in assets every day. As cases of achieving financial independence through ideas, businesses, and investments continue, the ranks of millionaires, a symbol of the so-called 'American Dream,' are steadily expanding.
However, there are also observations that rising prices since 2026 are eroding the real value of $1 million. While it was considered a life-changing amount of wealth until the early 2010s, analysis suggests it is now closer to a starting line for entering the wealthy class.
In particular, there is a significant perceived asset gap between those who own a home or have fully repaid their mortgage and those who do not. People without a home must spend considerable assets just to purchase an average house. Not only achieving millionaire status but also maintaining asset value amidst inflation has emerged as a new challenge.
