Amidst a theft of approximately 1367 BTC due to a code flaw in the Bitcoin hardware wallet Coldcard, CoinDesk reported that a fourth attack is currently underway, and the cumulative damage could increase to 1816 BTC ($114 million). Alex Thorn of Galaxy Research explained, "Hackers are using a fee replacement feature, so if victims confirm unconfirmed transactions, they can pay a higher fee to move funds first." Meanwhile, Coldcard previously experienced a theft of over 1359.88 BTC due to a random number generation flaw, and the emergency firmware update also reported cases of some devices being 'bricked' (failing to boot).
