When asked which inflation indicators he focuses on when assessing price pressures, Fed Chairman Christopher Walsh stated, "I am watching broader inflation indicators than the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index." Chairman Walsh added, "While the scope of the Fed's policy mandate is quite narrow, my perspective of observation is broader than PCE."
