As KOSPI and KOSDAQ fell by around 8%, the Korea Exchange activated circuit breakers. This is the second consecutive day of activation. A circuit breaker is a system that temporarily halts market trading when the KOSPI and KOSDAQ markets plummet, and it operates in a total of three stages. In a Stage 1 circuit breaker, which is triggered when a decline of 8% or more persists for one minute, market trading is halted for approximately 20 minutes.
