Michael Saylor, founder of MicroStrategy (MSTR), stated via X that Bitcoin's biggest challenge in the future is internal, not external. He emphasized, "BTC's consensus rules are like a constitution. Changing rules for specific groups infringes upon the economic rights of all market participants. Proposals like BIP-110 harm protocol neutrality, worsen the fee market, and undermine the network's long-term security. Furthermore, if certain factions modify the rules, other groups will imitate them, leading to governance conflicts." BIP-110 was recently proposed with the aim of focusing BTC on its purpose of payment and remittance. It suggests temporarily restricting some data within transactions. Saylor, Adam Back, and others oppose it, arguing that restricting transactions that legitimately pay fees violates BTC's core values.
