Gate has fully apologized for its previous handling attitude, stating that it will launch a re-investigation into the alleged $1.7 million hack of a Chinese user. Gate stated, "Upon receiving user feedback, we immediately contacted the user in question and responded in real-time. We have formed an internal group to address the issue and are supporting applications for fund freezing and recovery." Previously, a Chinese user (@jheioff) claimed via X, "I am using iOS and Mac, and my Gate account was hacked, losing $1.7 million. It's a real-name account with phone verification, Google verification, and email verification all set up. I never changed my password, but I received related notifications, and security settings were also changed. I demand a thorough investigation and compensation from Gate." Initially, Gate had caused controversy by showing a dismissive attitude towards the victim, claiming there were no issues with their security system.
