Eleanor Terrett, host of crypto policy publication Crypto in America, reported via X that the White House sent a letter to the Senate stating that it requested recommendations from Democrats for the currently vacant positions of commissioners for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), but received no response. Previously, some Democratic senators had claimed that the Trump administration was rejecting Democratic nominations. She added, "These demands come as calls to fill regulatory agency vacancies are growing from both parties ahead of the Senate vote on the CLARITY Act." Consequently, the personnel dispute between the Trump administration and Senate Democrats is expected to affect cryptocurrency policy issues.
