Iran's semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported on the 8th (local time) that "As U.S. President Donald Trump has officially declared the termination of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), it is neither logical nor reasonable for Iran to continue implementing an agreement that is already a dead letter. We must respond to Trump with clear action," conveying the Iranian government's position. The Iranian side further stated, "Although the memorandum was signed through the efforts of the negotiating team, it was clear from the beginning that the United States would not fulfill any agreement, especially when Iran asserted its rights." It added, "The memorandum was effectively nullified from the start due to the U.S.'s failure to uphold its commitments, and its termination was officially declared last night."
