Fake sites spread through SNS ads…luring users with bait like events and fee waivers
The Digital Asset eXchange Alliance (DAXA) urged extreme caution as phishing site advertisements impersonating domestic won-denominated virtual asset exchanges are spreading on social networking services (SNS).
According to DAXA on the 8th, clicking on impersonation ads recently posted on SNS such as Facebook leads to sites designed with screens similar to domestic won-denominated exchanges, inducing program installation with phrases like 'transaction fee exemption upon installation' and 'special event provision'.
DAXA explained that domestic won-denominated exchanges do not provide separate PC-installable trading programs, and installing such programs could lead to personal information theft, remote control functionality, and damage to virtual and financial assets.
It further advised users to always confirm the following: ▲ Directly access official websites instead of SNS ads ▲ Immediately stop if a PC program installation is requested ▲ Be wary of excessive benefit advertisements such as free fees ▲ Do not download executable files from unclear sources.
