According to CoinMarketCap, a cryptocurrency market data aggregator, on July 7 (local time), OpenGradient (OPG) saw a sharp rise, significantly outperforming market returns, driven by the announcement of its listing on Upbit's Korean Won (KRW) market. OPG recorded a 13.85% increase over 24 hours, reaching $0.145. Upbit announced the listing of OPG on its KRW market on the same day, with trading commencing at 3:30 PM.
CoinMarketCap identified the Upbit listing as the biggest factor behind this surge. Immediately after the listing announcement, OPG's price soared by 45% during the day, reaching $0.1795, and its 24-hour trading volume surged by 626% to $112.6 million. The analysis suggests that listing on a major exchange significantly increases investment accessibility and liquidity, leading to a short-term price revaluation. Upbit's announcement also stated that trading support for OPG in the KRW market would begin on July 7 at 3:30 PM.
CoinMarketCap also cited increasing investor interest in the AI theme as a supporting factor. OpenGradient is a project that builds 'decentralized infrastructure for verifiable AI execution,' and it is benefiting from the recent trend of AI-related cryptocurrencies being listed on exchanges and attracting investor interest.
The short-term outlook suggests that the key variable will be how long the buying momentum continues after Upbit trading begins. The intraday high of $0.1795 was identified as the first resistance level, and the market is focusing on $0.136 as a key support level. If the price remains above $0.136, there is a possibility of retesting $0.1795, but if it breaks below this level, there is a possibility of a correction to the $0.12-$0.13 range, according to the analysis.
CoinMarketCap evaluated this surge as a typical event-driven rally, fueled by increased liquidity from a major exchange listing combined with the AI theme. It added that whether the upward trend will continue depends crucially on whether trading volume remains high and new capital inflow persists after trading commences.
