In the first half of this year, a total of 344 security incidents occurred in the Web3 ecosystem, with damages reaching $1.32 billion, blockchain security firm CertiK reported through its Hack3D report. CertiK stated, "While the scale of damages in the first half decreased by 46.8% compared to the same period last year, excluding last year's Bybit case ($1.45 billion loss), the damage scale actually increased. This means that the overall security environment of the industry has not substantially improved. In the first half, wallet theft was the most common type, and hackers were found to be focusing on targeted attacks against high-net-worth individuals and institutions. The most frequent hacking type was code vulnerabilities, with a total of 204 incidents. Hackers were found to be targeting old smart contracts that have been operating for a long time without undergoing security audits."
