Blockchain-based game developer Yield Guild Games (YGG) announced that it is withdrawing from its cryptocurrency game publishing division due to the cryptocurrency market downturn and strategic difficulties in the video game industry. According to Decrypt, as a result, the website, launcher, and games (such as LOL Land, WaifuSweeper, etc.) of YGG Play, its cryptocurrency-based casual game publishing arm, will cease service on August 1st (local time). YGG stated, "Based on the judgment that behavioral data obtained from video game players' decision-making processes can be useful material for AI developers, we plan to focus our investment on supplying data for AI training," adding, "We hold $20.6 million in assets as of the first quarter, and this restructuring is expected to secure operating funds for four years."
