Over the past year, American users have conducted $571 million worth of political betting transactions on Polymarket, a prediction market platform from which they are banned. According to CoinDesk, on-chain analytics firm Allium analyzed, "The transaction volume from US-related wallets was the largest by country, surpassing Hong Kong ($422 million). Although Polymarket blocks US users based on IP, it is possible to bypass access using VPNs and cryptocurrency wallets. Among political bets by US users, 46% focused on geopolitical issues, exceeding the overall average (36%), with a particularly high proportion of bets related to the Iran war."
