U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated in an interview with CBS News that he "sees no apparent problem" regarding the disclosure of President Donald Trump's cryptocurrency profits. This statement comes after data revealed that President Trump earned approximately $1.4 billion through memecoins such as TRUMP and World Liberty Financial (WLFI) since the start of his second term. Democrats have criticized these profits as a potential conflict of interest, given that the Trump administration is pushing for relaxed cryptocurrency regulations. However, Secretary Bessent countered by stating, "This administration is an innovation administration," and argued that the benefits of the developing technological ecosystem, including digital assets and artificial intelligence (AI), are accruing to the American people. A White House official also told CBS that there was "no conflict of interest" regarding the disclosed information.
