Chainalysis reported that the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) added 134 cryptocurrency wallet addresses linked to the terrorist organization Islamic State Khorasan (ISIS-K) to its sanctions list. The sanctioned addresses include 131 Tron (TRX)-based wallets and 3 Monero (XMR)-based wallets. Stablecoin issuer Tether (USDT) froze the assets in the 131 Tron-based wallets. The report stated, "These Tron wallets received over $1.4 million in cryptocurrency since 2023, and over $880,000 of that was transferred externally. ISIS-K has been receiving cryptocurrency donations through its website and messenger platforms, and some funds were confirmed to have moved to cryptocurrency exchanges located in Syria."
