According to US media outlet Axios, the United States and Iran have agreed to halt mutual attacks and are scheduled to hold talks in Doha, the capital of Qatar, on July 1 (local time). A senior US official stated, "We have decided to cease all military operations." The talks are planned to focus on resolving disputes related to the Strait of Hormuz. The meeting, originally scheduled to discuss Iran's nuclear program in Switzerland, had its venue and agenda changed due to heightened tensions between the two sides. Previously, both sides resumed attacks just 11 days after signing a ceasefire memorandum. According to US government officials and sources, US technical negotiation representative Nick Stewart is expected to attend the talks.
