Binance stated via its official X account, "We understand that Greek regulatory authorities have determined that Binance's submitted license application complies with the European Union (EU) cryptocurrency regulation MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets)." It added, "We also understand that the application has undergone review by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA)." Previously, Reuters reported, citing sources familiar with the matter, that Binance's MiCA license application in Greece was expected to be rejected. In response, Binance emphasized, "As the transitional period, during which the EU temporarily allowed operations to ensure MiCA compliance, comes to an end, we are approaching this cautiously to provide clear information to users. We will minimize service disruptions and disclose further information before June 30," adding, "We will continue to provide services for European users and will operate in compliance with relevant regulations in the future."
