Upbit is actively working to change perceptions of the digital asset industry by expanding its engagement with the future generation of finance through university campuses.
According to Dunamu on May 28, Dunamu, which operates the digital asset exchange Upbit, successfully concluded its campus special lecture program for university students, ‘UP Class’. The event, held at six major universities in Seoul, starting with Chung-Ang University and including Korea University, Yonsei University, Hanyang University, Sungkyunkwan University, and Seoul National University, attracted a total of approximately 1,200 young people, showing high interest.
UP Class was planned with the theme of ‘How technology-driven innovation changes future finance’. Its distinctive feature was that Dunamu executives and working-level staff, who are actively involved in the actual digital asset market, visited campuses directly to share their field experiences and career stories, going beyond simple industry promotion. At the lectures, the structure of the blockchain and digital asset industry, market change trends, and practical experiences were vividly delivered, garnering a positive response from students.
In particular, the event at Seoul National University was expanded to include a discussion on the direction of the financial industry in the AI era, involving Dunamu Chairman Song Chi-hyung, professors, and students, in conjunction with the 20th Anniversary Industry-Academic Forum of the Graduate School of Business. At Korea University, a collaborative program was also operated with the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Digital Convergence Talent Nurturing Project Group (HUSS), leading to practical industry-academic linkage cases beyond simple lectures.
Participant reactions were also positive. Survey results showed that 93.5% of participants responded, “It was helpful in understanding future finance,” and 95.1% responded, “My interest in the digital asset industry has increased.” The storytelling-style lecture structure, tailored to the university students' perspective, and the career talk program, featuring alumni from each school, were evaluated as leading to high satisfaction.
The industry is noting that this UP Class signifies Upbit's expansion beyond a simple trading platform to the overall education and talent ecosystem of the digital asset industry. In a situation where demand for specialized personnel in the blockchain industry is growing along with recent discussions about institutional integration, there is also an analysis that Upbit is proactively expanding its engagement with the future generation of finance.
