Meeting at a Taipei Restaurant… Jensen Huang: "The next six months will be very busy"
It has been reported that the top executives of US Nvidia and Taiwan TSMC, leading beneficiaries of the global artificial intelligence (AI) boom, held an evening meeting to discuss cooperation between the two companies.
According to Taiwanese media outlets such as United Daily News and Commercial Times on the 27th (local time), Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and TSMC Chairman C.C. Wei, along with other top executives from both companies, met at a restaurant in Taipei, Taiwan, the previous evening.
Market attention was focused on this meeting as the combined market capitalization of Nvidia, the world's No. 1 company by market cap (US$5.024 trillion, approximately 7,828 trillion KRW), and TSMC, No. 6 (US$2.138 trillion, approximately 3,216 trillion KRW), is approximately 11,000 trillion KRW (11 quadrillion KRW).
CEO Huang expressed gratitude to TSMC, stating that the production of the new product 'Grace Blackwell' is progressing very smoothly, and next-generation AI supercomputers like Vera Rubin have already begun production.
He added, "The next six months will be very busy," and "Both companies are closely cooperating and will secure all necessary production capacity and component supply."
Chairman Wei met with reporters after the meeting and, when asked if TSMC could meet all of Nvidia's orders, stated, "We have already worked very hard."
The Taiwanese industry interprets this not as a simple dinner but as an entry into a cooperation stage between the top executives of both companies regarding the mass production of next-generation AI platforms and the expansion of advanced processes and packaging.
An industry source commented, "Key decision-making teams from both companies' AI sectors were present," adding, "This means that the speed of subsequent AI platform mass production, supply chain cooperation, and production capacity management have entered a high-level integrated operation stage."
In October last year, CEO Huang held a so-called 'Kkanbu Meeting' with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun at a chicken restaurant in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and also met Chairman Chung at the consumer electronics and information technology (IT) exhibition 'CES 2026' in January this year.
