Yonhap News reported that an Upbit user filed a lawsuit claiming damages due to a system error that occurred immediately after the December 3 emergency martial law, but lost. User Mr. Cho placed orders to sell all 43,551 Ripple coins at the current price on December 3, 2024, immediately after the declaration of martial law, in six separate instances between 10:51 PM and 10:57 PM. He claimed that at the time of the first sell order, the market price was around 3,000 won, but a subsequent system error caused a delay in transactions, eventually leading to the sell order being executed at 1,727 won, resulting in a loss of approximately 55.44 million won. The court dismissed Mr. Cho's claim, stating, "Considering the surge in sell orders due to the emergency martial law situation, it is difficult to believe that the first order would have been executed at the current price of around 3,000 won."
