It has alleviated the debt burden on young people and fostered IT talent. Dunamu, which operates Upbit, has been carrying out youth support projects worth 7.5 billion won with the Korea Student Aid Foundation for the past five years, drawing attention as a leading corporate social responsibility (CSR) case in the digital asset industry.
According to the industry on May 26, Dunamu collaborated with the Korea Student Aid Foundation to donate a total of 7.51 billion won over the past five years, carrying out projects to support vulnerable young people and foster future IT talent. Dunamu deposited 7 billion won when it signed a business agreement for the 'Blue Lighthouse Dunamu Donation Scholarship Project' in 2021, and expanded its support by additionally sponsoring 450 million won in 2023.
Through this project, 7,317 young people under the age of 39 who have diligently repaid their student loans received debt support benefits of up to 2 million won per person. Among them, 2,942 people fully repaid their student loans with Dunamu's support alone, and an additional 557 people repaid all remaining debts on their own with the support funds, totaling 3,499 people who were effectively freed from the burden of debt.
Beyond simple financial support, Dunamu also contributed to improving the digital education environment. It supported 1,250 vulnerable university students with digital education devices worth a total of 1 billion won, thereby improving their learning environment. The industry evaluates this as a prime example of a digital asset company simultaneously pursuing social responsibility and fostering future talent.
In particular, Dunamu is also expanding its scholarship program linked to its own blockchain event, the Upbit D Conference (UDC). Since 2025, the proceeds from UDC registration fees have been returned as scholarships for university students dreaming of a career in IT and blockchain, and so far, a total of 60 million won in living expense scholarships has been provided. On the 21st, the '2026 Blue Lighthouse Dunamu UDC Donation Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony' was held at the Seoul office of the Korea Student Aid Foundation, where scholarship students were personally encouraged.
Yoon Seon-ju, Dunamu's Chief Brand Impact Officer (CBIO), stated, "We hope this scholarship will be a meaningful stepping stone for the scholarship students who will lead the future technology industry," adding, "Dunamu will also continue to strive to grow with future talents and ensure that technology creates positive change in society."
