Upbit has set out to preempt the 'Vibe Trading' market based on AI agents. Beyond simply providing APIs, it is accelerating the establishment of a next-generation digital asset trading environment by unveiling a structured guidance system that helps AI directly understand and execute Upbit's trading functions.

According to Dunamu, the operator of Upbit, on the 22nd, the company launched 'Upbit Skills' to help AI agents more easily utilize Upbit API-based CLI (Command Line Interface) with natural language. This feature is provided in the form of a collection of reference guidelines and resources that can be used in AI coding agent environments such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex.

As 'Vibe Coding', which uses AI to write code in natural language, is rapidly spreading, the increasing demand for 'Vibe Trading' using AI agents and APIs in the investment and trading sectors is cited as the background. In fact, the number of Upbit API users increased by 76% from 2023 to 2025, influenced by service advancement and expanded use of AI technology. The industry also evaluates that Upbit is expanding its domain beyond a simple trading platform to an AI-based digital asset infrastructure company.

Upbit Skills is designed to enable AI to understand Upbit trading rules and CLI usage, performing tasks such as price inquiry, balance check, order creation, and deposit/withdrawal inquiry. When a user enters a natural language request like "Check KRW-BTC current price," "Check my Upbit balance," or "Create a test command for a market buy of 10,000 KRW-BTC," the AI agent suggests appropriate command configurations or assists in their execution.

In particular, Upbit emphasized that it has applied a 'skill' structure that bundles procedures, rules, examples, and tool usage methods required for repetitive tasks, going beyond simple prompt levels. This, it explains, lowers the burden of complex API command configuration or applying exchange-specific rules, and helps users with less development experience to more easily experiment with AI-based trading environments.

Upbit Skills supports various functions from market price features such as current price, order book, candles, and execution inquiry, to order creation/cancellation/testing, deposit/withdrawal inquiry, and travel rule verification assistance. A Dunamu official said, "The demand for creating trading tools or configuring investment environments directly using AI agents is rapidly increasing. We hope that Upbit Skills will enable users to utilize the Upbit API more easily and accurately with AI."
