U.S. Congressman Nick Begich, who is friendly to cryptocurrencies, announced on his X (formerly Twitter) on the 21st (local time) that he has introduced the 'American Reserve Asset Modernization Act' (ARMA), which focuses on stocking Bitcoin as a government reserve asset. He explained, "The U.S. reserve asset balance sheet is a core component of our national insurance policy. It underpins the value of the dollar and provides confidence and stability in uncertain times. However, over time, market perceptions of what assets are considered sustainable stores of value can change. We must acknowledge these changes and ensure we have the flexibility to expand America's reserve asset portfolio. The ARMA bill integrates the management of digital assets held by the federal government and protects them as reserve assets for future generations."
