An anonymous cryptocurrency whale was reportedly extorted of approximately $6.7 million worth of assets under physical threat, FinanceFeeds reported, citing on-chain analyst Specter. The media outlet stated, "The attackers withdrew 1,554 ETH and 10.5 BTC from the victim's Kraken account, and 34.1 cbBTC from their Coinbase account. Transaction records show that the withdrawals were systematic and rapid, making it highly probable that the victim was coerced into making the withdrawals themselves. Over $5.3 million of the stolen funds were deposited into Tornado Cash through multiple wallets, making them difficult to trace."
